On Tuesday morning, Issaquah High School’s Class of 2010 poured out of the Issaquah Community Center and through a tunnel of their (long suffering) teachers.

Surrounding streets were blocked off as the school’s marching band paid tribute to the outgoing class, a feature of the annual tradition that is the Senior Graduation Assembly.

Reporter photographer, senior Erik Richards, captured this moment as Alex Lambdin, Nick Tochko, Michael Stanton and Kenny Hitchings said farewell to their teachers.

“Really, everyone who came out of the gym was packed full of emotion,” Richards said. “Some were laughing, some cheering, and there were a few tears too. I think everyone is genuinely excited about moving on to the next phase of life, whatever that might be. I know I am.”
