Sunset Walk by Pulte Homes has won a Gold Nugget Grand Award for its Issaquah Highlands community. The award was in the multi-family housing category for communities of less than 15 dwelling units per acre.
Now in its 49th year, the Gold Nugget Awards honor creative achievements in architectural design and land use planning for residential, commercial and industrial projects. The awards competition is presented by PCBC and was sponsored by Builder Magazine.
“Sunset Walk at Issaquah Highlands has been a popular community since opening this year and we are honored that this urban village lifestyle concept has been acknowledged for excellence and innovation by the largest and oldest award program of its kind,” said Brian Bullock, vice president of sales for PulteGroup’s Pacific Northwest Division.
Sunset Walk by Pulte Homes opened in April and features 70 townhome units. The award acknowledges Pulte Homes and Dahlin Group Architecture Planning of California.
More than 456 entries were submitted to this year’s Gold Nugget competition. In awarding Sunset Walk the top honors in its multi-family category, the judges wrote: “This townhome community site plan did a smart job offering localized green spaces and paseos to personalize each home’s entry encounter. The large open space softens the circulation spine that bisects the property and provides a great community focal point. The exteriors are a combination of fun, fresh forms and bold colors that give these first-time buyers an individual identity for each unit among the overall building. The interiors live openly, maximizing the compact square footage for a pleasant daily living experience.”
Entries for the Gold Nugget competition come from 14 Western states and international entries are also accepted for some categories. Categories range from best kitchen design to best campus housing project.
