Chromatique Salon of Bellevue has opened up a second location in Issaquah just off of Northwest Gilman Boulevard.
The salon, nestled in the picturesque setting of Gilman Village, caters to a stylish upscale clientele and features a variety of luxurious services, including hair, makeup and spa services such as waxing, facials, lash extensions and different body treatments. The salon also sells a large selection of beauty products from Oribe, R & Co. and Smith and Cult.
Owner and hair stylist Samantha Lawrence, who lives in Issaquah, said that she had been wanting to expand her business to her home city because “there are not many options for a high-end salon in Issaquah … and it’s hard to find [a salon that provides] both hair and makeup.”
Lawrence first started the business in December 2013 and from there “it grew really quickly,” she said.
She believes the secret to Chromatique’s quick success lies in the stylists’ superb treatment of their clients.
“We really pride ourselves on doing an amazing job,” she said. “We treat clients like friends.”
Chromatique also commits to keeping up with all of the newest beauty trends, according to Lawrence. Employees routinely fly to Los Angeles to take classes with celebrity stylists, such as Nikki Lee, who does hair for the popular television show “Dancing with the Stars.”
Because of this, “we’re able to offer everything new and current,” Lawrence said. She explained that some of the latest hairstyles include very layered bobs, new variations on the “shag” and loose curls, as well as a host of new color techniques.
The beauty industry was a lifelong calling for Lawrence, who said she has been doing hair and makeup “ever since [she] was little.”
“I did hair and makeup on my Barbies,” she said, and later graduated to performing the services “on friends in high school.”
Chromatique is offering quite a few different specials to celebrate its grand opening in Issaquah, as well as special deals for the season, including Halloween makeup services. Additionally, the salon always offers blowout and makeup packages that include complimentary wine and champagne. Women’s cuts start at $65, while men’s and children’s begin at $45.
The salon can be found at 317 NW Gilman Boulevard, and is open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. Stylists will travel to do on-site hair and makeup for weddings, photo shoots and corporate events.
