I wanted to applaud the article on Ms. Tripathi’s experience and actions following it. This kind of in-depth response gives us all a chance to reflect and examine our perspective.
Growing up on the white side of a family that has managed to include most races, religions and orientations, maybe I am a bit more open to confronting my inner racism than some, but I believe that most of us are trying to move away from the ignorance, fear and hate that haunts our past and effects our actions.
Being true to ourselves means acknowledging the misinformation we were given, interrupting any impulse to act on it and moving to open ourselves to embracing all people.
It is the only way we can move to create a world that has a chance for the survival of the human race.
