Know the facts about birth control

On Saturday, June 6, groups from “The Pill Kills” all over the United States protested outside of various Planned Parenthood clinics, pharmacies, doctors’ offices, and other family planning facilities.

On Saturday, June 6, groups from “The Pill Kills” all over the United States protested outside of various Planned Parenthood clinics, pharmacies, doctors’ offices, and other family planning facilities.

I am writing to you today to express that the protest these people will be doing is incredibly irrelevant.

The information conveyed on their Web site just baffles me. They pinpoint each and every little detail and flaw that “The Pill” presents.

Although some of the allegations may in fact be true, it is important to point out first, that the FDA would not have approved something that was extremely harmful to women.

Second, every single type of medication out there, whether it is allergy medicine or pain medicine, can have potential side effects.

This is why, with anything and everything, doctors constantly remind patients of the potential side effects and if the medication is compatible with other medications a patient is taking or with their personal life choices (such as smokers).

I think it is important for everyone to know the facts on anything they’re taking, even birth control, before they make assumptions that it kills because they heard that there is an entire website dedicated to ‘The Pill’ killing.

So, please, always check with your health care providers about anything, and know the facts.
