The Sammamish community has spent the past several months trying to convince their city council members about the value of staying with Eastside Fire and Rescue. This partnership continues to be the most cost-effective way to deliver emergency and life safety services to Sammamish residents.
The final vote by the Sammamish City Council to stay with the partnership will take place on Tuesday, Jan. 21 at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall at Sammamish Commons (801 228th Ave. S.E). If councilmembers approve the Interlocal Agreement, Eastside Fire and Rescue will continue for another seven years.
We appreciate Sammamish councilmembers being open to hearing the community’s concerns. This has been a heated debate, and a lot of time and hard work spent by both sides to get to this point.
As a result, it’s important that we have a strong presence at this meeting. We hope the community will attend the meeting to show support for the council’s actions. Please visit the community web site www.saveourfiredept.org to learn how you can participate in this important public process.
