On the front page of the March 28 edition of the Reporter, the adorable little Miss Mirabella Ross (age 11 months) was pictured reaching for a new beanie baby. Mirabella had a big, red bump on her head after a nasty fall and was brought by her parents to our Emergency Department to get checked out. Fortunately, she was just fine and left us a happy little girl, chewing eagerly on the beanie baby she received on her way out.
As a result of that story, we have been overwhelmed by the generosity of this community as bag after bag of beanie babies — 400 or so — have been dropped off at our registration desk. Although we were fortunate enough to get contact information for many of these generous spirits, many others chose not to be recognized. Regardless, I would like to thank them all from the bottom of my heart for their kindness and for taking the time to bring in their beanies (one lady came all the way from Ballard)!
We promise to find them all new homes with the little kids who come to our facility.
Thank you all again so much — your exceptional generosity is greatly appreciated.
