I am a senior at Tiger Mountain Community High School, and I think you misrepresented my school. The way it was worded and put together made it sound like my school was only for drug users, and it made my school sound unsafe because of that.
To be completely truthful with you there are maybe about six students doing heroin, and there is a large percent of people smoking cigarettes, too. But I don’t do drugs, and I don’t drink, but I love it here.
We’re here because we learn differently and the big schools in Issaquah don’t accommodate those who are different. Because we’re all different in our own personal ways, we accept each other and we become a family.
Every time I hear people talk about my school in a dubious way, I feel very sad. People shouldn’t be afraid of such a nice place, a place where people can learn the way they were born to learn. Please don’t put the word “heroin” in your next article about Tiger, because that is NOT what we are about.
