Tim Flood not involved with Issaquah

This idea is from a guy who doesn’t volunteer in any capacity, has no credentials in transportation and offers no further info than “I looked at the data.” He created a viable transportation package? I doubt it.

There was an article in Issaquah/Sammamish Reporter where in a staff reporter wrote up a $153 million alternative transportation package proposed by a guy running for the Issaquah City Council. This kind of irresponsible reporting borders on criminal.

This idea is from a guy who doesn’t volunteer in any capacity, has no credentials in transportation and offers no further info than “I looked at the data.” He created a viable transportation package? I doubt it.

And as for the reporter who wrote it and the editor who published it, both should be censured, if not fired. This is the worst form of biased reporting.

The only reason for this article that I can see is to help this person get elected to the city council. I do not want a person on the Issaquah City Council who has never volunteered in any capacity and doesn’t see the need to work within the system.

I’m not saying I agree with everything the city council does. I don’t. But I am saying we need to work within the system to effect change. It is easy, and unconscionable, to sit back and say I have a better idea without knowing all the facts, and without presenting all details of the new idea.

The only way to make your voice heard is to get involved. This citizen has not been involved in Issaquah’s issues in any way. He wants to be on the city council without paying his dues. I suggest he start by doing some volunteer work. Get involved.

On the positive side of the transportation issue, we do have someone running for Issaquah City Council who has transportation experience. He would be a much better choice as a council member to lead Issaquah in effective transportation improvements. His name is Bill Ramos.
