I was teaching in Issaquah the year the teachers went on strike. There were many ways the folks in Issaquah supported the teachers, but I will never forget Jose Enciso.
It was a particularly cold and rainy day on the picket lines. We looked up from under our rain hoods to see Jose pull up with a huge pot of steaming hot soup. I could have been made of water and catsup and it still would have been the best tasting soup ever made. Fortunately for us Jose is an awesome cook and the soup was stuffed full of wonderful veggies, spices and great stock.
Jose has a heart as big as all outdoors. After the strike was over it was the honor of all the teachers at my school to visit XXX after school with our families and have dinner.
