Wednesday was an excellent day to be out exploring on Issaquah Creek – warm sunshine and lots of interesting bugs and animals to inspect. Reporter photographer Erik Richards captured these great pictures of young Salmon Campers enjoying themselves and learning a little bit too, at the Friends of the Issaquah Salmon Hatchery’s (FISH) latest outing for young ‘uns. Flashing the peace sign, Abby Graber, top right, was obviously have a cool time splashing around in the water.

These kinds of programs are only possible because a dedicated group of locals sign up to be volunteer docents, talking to members of the public about salmon and the Issaquah creek system, and hosting special events like this one. FISH are ready to start training their next crop of docents. Interested? Contact Volunteer Coordinator Bev Lee, at fishvolunteer@msn.com, or 425-427-0259.
