Always wanted to buy some art, but couldn’t find anything affordable? Got 50 bucks or a little more to spend on something unique, and local? Like the idea of supporting creativity and the arts right here in your community?
This Friday night, artEast will launch its fourth annual “100 Feet of Art” auction in downtown Issaquah.
Featuring more than 100 original works by local artists, and with bids starting at no more than $50, the “100 Feet of Art” auction is designed to make art accessible and affordable for those who otherwise might shy away from auctions and galleries.
“We know that everyone will fall in love with a piece that fits their home and budget,” said artEAST’s Karen Abel.
The reception will take place at the artEAST Gallery from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, April 2, at the artEast Gallery at 48 Front St. It is free to the public.
Online bidding on the items begins at 6 p.m. on Friday, at www.arteast.org.
The money raised by the auction allows artEAST to bring art programming to the community by hosting workshops, demonstrations and exhibitions throughout the year.
“The money raised by this event is essential,” said Abel. “It provides us the opportunity to host classes, mentor students, stage art exhibits, demo techniques and act as an ambassador for the arts and for the community of Issaquah.”
There will be a closing reception on Friday, April 23, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the artEAST Gallery, when bidding on auction items will end at 9 p.m.
