Boy Scouts mark 25 years of Recycling Christmas Trees on the Plateau

The sight of Sammamish Boy Scout troops carrying away discarded Christmas trees for recycling every January is becoming as much of a tradition as the holiday itself. This year, the boy scouts celebrate 25 years of providing this valuable service to the residents on the Plateau.

The sight of Sammamish Boy Scout troops carrying away discarded Christmas trees for recycling every January is becoming as much of a tradition as the holiday itself. This year, the boy scouts celebrate 25 years of providing this valuable service to the residents on the Plateau.

The drive is an annual service project for the local troops, and is their primary fundraiser for the year.

Donations from residents are a crucial part of the Scouts ability to provide a quality Scouting program.

All donations are used right here on the Plateau, to fund Scouting programs for six Plateau area troops.

This year trees will be picked up on Saturday, Jan. 9, starting at 9 a.m.

The suggested donation is $15-25 per tree.
