Chris Elliott Fund supporters hit the saddle for ride against brain cancer

More than 30 cyclists did their part for brain cancer research, taking to local roads for the Chris Elliott Fund Summer Bike Ride on Sunday.

More than 30 cyclists did their part for brain cancer research, taking to local roads for the Chris Elliott Fund Summer Bike Ride on Sunday.

Starting at Sunny Hills Elementary in Sammamish, the group then rode through the flats and hills of Redmond, Issaquah and the Snoqualmie River Valley.

Brain tumors now are the leading cause of cancer deaths in kids 19 years old and younger, and across America 4,000 children under the age of 20 will be diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2009.

The Chris Elliott Fund for Glioblastoma Research is a non-profit organization that raises awareness and funds specifically aimed at taking on brain cancer. To date, CEF has raised more than $1 million for brain cancer research across the country and provides countless resources, information and support to people living with the disease.
