The Issaquah band, Modest Mouse, released a new music video today directed by the late actor Heath Ledger.
The animated video for “King Rat” was done to raise awareness for illegal commercial whaling practices. The video will be available Friday for download from iTunes, and can be seen on the band’s MySpace page today.
According to reports, Ledger approached the band in 2007 about the project. Following his death in 2008, his company, The Masses, finished it in his honor.
All proceeds from the first month of downloads from iTunes will go to the Sea Shepard Conservation Society, a nonprofit marine wildlife organization.
