Once again, parents and teachers in the Issaquah School District have demonstrated what excellent young men and women they produce. At the Rotary Club of Issaquah’s Student of the Month Awards on Tuesday, seven remarkable students were honored for their commitment not only to their studies, but also their peers and teachers, and the future that awaits them.
Tiger Mountain High School students Connor Pierce, Makenna Converse and Allie Wilke, Liberty High School’s Carter Murch and Emily Bradford, and Issaquah High School seniors Alex Nelson and Caitlin Doxsie have well and truly earned the praise of supporters of local schools, and that is what they received at a luncheon held in their honor.
“I know I can always trust you, and that means a lot to me,” IHS teacher Ellen Jarvinen told Doxsie on Tuesday. It was a theme that ran through all of the proud teachers’ summations of their students — maturity, dedication, and an understanding of their role not just at the school but beyond it. The Reporter joins the local school community in congratulating these fine young students on their efforts, and wishes them all the best for the future.
