Though the Issaquah Salmon Days Festival doesn’t officially kick-off until October 3, the action starts the weekend prior, with the all new Issaquah Salmon Open Golf Tournament, and Geoteaming, and Orienteering events.
A new initiative this year, the Issaquah Salmon Open Golf Tournament’s 18 hole best ball scramble format offers two levels of team play – A Level for competitive players, and B Level for players out for “fun ‘n sun” with friends.
Played at the beautiful Mt. Si Golf Course, Sunday, Sept. 26, this tournament has an 8 a.m. shotgun start with check–in from 6:30 – 7:30 a.m.
Open to individuals, pairs, or teams of 4, the entry fee is $75 per person which includes green fees, refreshments, lunch and prizes. With a field size limited to 144 players, be sure to sign up soon. Carts are available for and additional $28, along with a limited number of caddies.

1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners: $400, $300 and $200
B Level
1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners: $200, $120 and $80 plus great gifts
4th and 5th Place winners: Salmon Days gear

Geoteaming – FREE – Saturday, Sept. 25
Enjoy this fun, interactive, and high-tech scavenger hunt using handheld GPS units to navigate your way to hidden “treasures” in and around Issaquah. Each found cache earns you and your team valuable points toward your final score. All equipment is provided, along with a delicious lunch catered by Rogue’s Issaquah Brewhouse.
Three sessions with all ages welcome.
Location: Issaquah Highlands, on 10th Ave NE between NE Park Drive and NE High Street.
Session 1 – 9:30 – 11:30 a.m. Sign-in: 8.30 a.m.
Session 2 – Noon – 2 p.m. Sign–in: 11 a.m.
Session 3 – 2:30 – 4:30 p.m. Sign-in: 1.30 p.m.
Walking and weather appropriate clothing and shoes advised. Space is limited and pre-registration is highly recommended. You must arrive 1 hour before your session to sign in, receive equipment and instructions. Orienteering – Sept. 25
An orienteering event will be held on Saturday, from 10am-Noon at Lake Sammamish State, thanks to the Sammamish Orienteering Club which organized this navigating adventure. For more information about orienteering contact the Sammamish Orienteering Club at 425-822-6254.
The 41st Annual Issaquah Salmon Days Festival celebrates the annual return of the salmon to Northwest lakes, streams and historic downtown hatchery. The festival is presented annually by the Greater Issaquah Chamber of Commerce.
