The salmon put on a show for visitors at the Issaquah Salmon Hatchery on Friday, Sept. 3, perhaps one of the final days of heat and sunshine for this season.
Leila Nihipali and her parents come to the hatchery regularly. “She asks to come and look at the fish every day,” said mom Nihipali (who didn’t want her photo taken). “They’re really big this year. I probably say that every year, but they’re really big.”
Three high school freshmen also enjoyed the sunny weather and aquatic viewing. Miranda Krause and Chloe Kraft came to town after a day at Mt. Si. High School to visit with their friend Kendall Likes who attends Issaquah High.
Perhaps it was the extra vitamin D or maybe the excitement of seeing nature in action, but everyone wanted their picture taken – even the salmon.
