Issaquah Police cited 34 people for underage drinking at a party at about 12:20 a.m., May 25, in the Talus development.
Police received a complaint about the party from a neighbor, and after entering the residence where the party was held, cited 34 suspects with minor in possession and/or consumption of alcohol.
There was alcohol in the house, and many suspects were visibly intoxicated, according to the police department.
Juvenile offenders will be referred to King County Juvenile Court, and those 18 years and older will be cited for appearance in Issaquah Municipal Court.
To prevent teenagers from drinking at parties — and then potentially endangering themselves and others — Issaquah Police continue to enforce underage drinking laws.
“As the school year winds down, and graduation parties begin, we unfortunately see an increase in underage drinking parties,” Issaquah Police Chief Paul Ayers wrote in a press release. “Our goal is to avoid tragedies, such as drunken driving accidents or alcohol poisoning, from ever occurring in our community.”
