Long-time Republican and community leader James Callow was ratified overwhelmingly by precinct committee officers to his first term as chairman of the 5th legislative District GOP at a recent organizational meeting.

Callow will oversee more than 180 precinct committee officers in the areas of Issaquah, Snoqualmie Pass, Carnation, Duvall, North Bend, Maple Valley, Black Diamond and a bit of North Enumclaw.

“Our representatives, Glenn Anderson and Jay Rodne in the state House have done an outstanding job over the years of representing our values. Now, Glenn has been replaced by Rep. Chad Magendanz, who already has a great start and shows outstanding leadership,” Callow said.

Callow enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and attended the University of Wyoming, receiving a commission with his B.S. degree. He retired as a major from the U.S. Air Force after 20 years of service and for a time was a crew member on AWACs Boeing aircraft. Callow now is a Boeing Systems Engineering Manager, and lives with his wife, Laura, in rural Maple Valley. They have a daughter, Hannah, who attends Tahoma Middle School.

“I am very fortunate to work with such a wonderful group of dedicated citizen volunteers who contribute thousands of hours each year to disseminate voter information to their neighbors,” said Callow.

“We need to get Washington back on track with a sensible budget and restate our support for education. We also need to listen to the voters,” Callow said.
