The blotter consists of officers’ accounts of crimes and other happenings in the city of Issaquah. Persons arrested are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
Oct. 15
CAUSING TROUBLE ALL OVER TOWN: Police responded to a disturbance at a business in the 1400 block of NW Sammamish Road. Police spoke to an employee, and she directed police to the male in question and requested that he be removed from the building. It turned out to be the same man that police had trespassed from the Starbucks on Gilman Boulevard earlier that morning.
IT WAS THE GOBLINS: A man returned to his home in the 1200 block of NE Hickory Lane at 6:05 p.m. to find his garage door halfway open and off of its track. The man gave the place a thorough check, but found nothing missing or out of the ordinary. He was not sure how the door had gotten that way. Police helped the man get the garage door back on track, but could not find any sign of malicious mischief at the property.
WE ALL SCREAM FOR SLEEPOVERS: At 10:18 p.m., a person reported hearing screaming from a vehicle in the 5600 block of194th Lane SE. Police found the vehicle and stopped it, making contact with the driver. The driver said that she and the passengers were looking for the house of a friend who was hosting a sleepover party.
Oct. 16
BAG BICKERING: Police responded at 9:24 a.m. to a disturbance in the 100 block of Front St. S., the second for the two subjects within about 30 minutes. The two were having an argument over a bag that they said they shared. Police advised them to spend some time apart for a while.
TRAPPED IN A STORE: A woman who owned a business in the 900 block of NE Park Drive called to report a loud group of males outside her store at 7:39 p.m. She said that she and the other employees were too afraid of the men to leave the building. When police arrived, the males appeared to have gone. Police stayed to see that the workers locked up the store and departed safely.
Oct. 17
DOGS LOOKING FOR A JOB: At 12:38 p.m., police happened upon a subject living in his light grey Dodge van in the parking lot of the Target in the 700 block of NW Gilman Blvd. The car dweller said that he and his two dogs were homeless and trying to find work.
THAT’S A REALLY SMART IDEA: Police responded at 4:40 p.m. to a suspicious report from the 200 block of Third Ave. NE.Police spoke to the homeowner in question, who reported that he had allowed a homeless person to set up a tent in his backyard and stay for a couple of days.
NIGHTMARE ON FRONT STREET: Police received a report at 9:18 p.m. of a suspicious male who had been standing by a fence for an hour in the 700 block of Front St. S. Police arrived and found only three happy bears playing in the area. The suspicious male’s whereabouts remain unknown.
Oct. 18
THE CLOSET VOMITED: At 2:57 p.m., police went to the intersection of Highlands Drive Northeast and Southeast Issaquah-Fall City Road, where there was reported to be abandoned clothing on the sidewalk. Sure enough, police found 14 pieces of clothes on the ground. The clothing was saturated with water, leaves and debris, and appeared to have been sitting outside for quite a few days.
HIS BACK MUST BE VERY HAIRY: Police received a report of a suspicious male at 4:53 p.m. in the 100 block of NE Alder St.The man had been going into a business several times to ask questions about back waxing. Police made contact with the male. He told police that it had all been a misunderstanding and that he would not return to the business.
Oct. 19
IT WAS THE GOBLINS AGAIN: A homeowner from the 100 block of Front St. S. called police at 12:56 p.m. to ask what he can do about a vehicle parked on his property inside his carport. He said he did not know who the vehicle belonged to or how it got there. Police advised him to call a tow truck to remove the vehicle.
Oct. 20
PARKING LOT STALKER: A suspicious male was reported in a parking lot in the 700 block of NW Gilman Blvd. at 9:35 p.m.The male was following by car a female who was walking in the parking lot. The two were arguing, but no assault was observed by the reporting party. Police arrived and spoke to the female. The male arrived shortly afterwards. Both stated that they were arguing.
