Issaquah’s Adrianne Haslet-Davis, 32, who lost her foot and part of her leg in the Boston Marathon bombing, will be honored at a community event June 1 at Seattle Center, in the Center House on the big hardwood dance floor.

“Adrianne is someone we know because we all train at the same forums, so this really hit close to home,” said TJ Lacy, Arthur Murray Dance Schools general manager in Seattle.

The event is a free public dance co-sponsored by Seattle Center and Arthur Murray Dance Schools of Puget Sound. It will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Haslet-Davis is a dance instructor at Arthur Murray in Boston. With her husband Adam Davis, who had just returned from deployment in Afghanistan, they were sitting in front of the second bomb at the marathon. Davis was injured by shrapnel.

Arthur Murray School of Dance will host the dance, provide group classes and give dance lesson vouchers for any donation made online directly to Adrianne’s “GoFundMe.com/Adrianne” account. There will be an opportunity to donate online to her or other victims of the bombing on laptops set up at the event. Lacy said they are also welcoming donations to Wounded Warriors, because of Adam’s military service. Adam Davis returned from Afghanistan unscathed, only to be wounded in his own country.

Lacy said “Dancing With the Stars” champion Derek Hough has reached out to Haslet-Davis.

“When she’s ready and when she feels like she’s up for it, I will fly out to Boston and I will spend some time with her and we’ll dance,” Hough told Access Hollywood. Haslet-Davis already had a connection to the show before it reached out. Boston native Aly Raisman and her pro partner, Mark Ballas, met Haslet-Davis when they rehearsed at the Arthur Murray dance studio in Boston.
