Issaquah
NO, NOT HUMAN
On Sept. 13, a Klahanie man entered the police department lobby with what he believed to be human bones. An officer informed him they appeared to be animal bones, and advised the King County Sheriff’s Office had jurisdiction of his area.
DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
After 5 p.m. Sept. 13, a 28-year-old woman from North Bend was arrested for a domestic assault that took place on 220th Avenue Southeast.
PUBLIC DISTURBANCE
At 7:40 p.m. Sept. 13, a caller reported a woman yelling profanities inside the Safeway off Northwest Gilman Boulevard. She was gone by the time police arrived.
SUSPENDED
At 10:01 p.m. Sept. 14, police arrested a 27-year-old Issaquah man for driving while license suspended in the third degree.
GAS THEFT
At 9:31 a.m., an officer took a theft report at a location on Shangri-La Way Northwest. There was damage to the gas latch on a vehicle and gasoline had been stolen.
ALCOHOL OFFENSE
At 4:47 p.m. Sept. 15, police contacted a man with a can of Four Loko. He was made to pour it out.
FALSE ALARM
At 5:51 p.m. Sept. 15, two officers were dispatched to the intersection of Newport Way Northwest and 17th Avenue Northwest, where it was reported a person was on top of a shed wearing camouflage and carrying a rifle. Police located a large group of people playing with air pellet guns.
THEFT
At 6:41 p.m. Sept. 15, an officer took a report of the theft of cash, wallet and a cell phone near Northwest Gilman Boulevard. Total loss was $390.
TRASH BOUNTY
An employee of a Northwest Gilman Boulevard retailer discovered a wallet and credit cards in a dumpster Sept. 16. An officer was able to determine two of the items’ owners, who had previously reported the items stolen from a nearby gym.
A BIT ANGRY
Police responded to Providence Point Drive Southeast on Sept. 17, where a caller reported a reckless driver. The driver had cut off the complainant near the East Lake Sammamish Boulevard roundabout and flipped him the bird. Dispatch initially reported the suspect was also swerving on the roadway.
BUS BUMP
At 6:08 p.m. Sept. 17, witnesses reported a King County Metro coach struck a parked car on Newport Way Southwest.

VANDALISM
On Sept. 13, officers took a vandalism report, for documentation purposes only, from the occupants of a Northeast 42nd Street residence. The couple had received a warning from their homeowner’s association about two dead trees on their property. When they investigated, they discovered persons unknown had drilled several holes near their bases, a common method of killing trees. The cost of removal was estimated in the thousands of dollars. The couple had people they suspected, but no proof.
WARRANT
At 12:39 a.m. Sept. 15, officers stopped a car speeding on Southeast 32nd Way. The driver was found with an empty beer can, but was determined to be unimpaired. He was found to have a misdemeanor arrest warrant and was taken into custody.
NOT HIS, AFTER ALL
At 5:05 a.m. Sept. 16, an officer spotted a vehicle, associated with a recent burglary, parked at a gas station. One of the occupants was a known burglar and frequent suspect. His name came up with two arrest warrants, for which he was taken into custody. The officer observed several tools in the backseat of the car. The other occupant initially said they were his, but changed his mind when he was told he could be charged if any possessions he claimed had been reported stolen. The car was impounded.
COPPER
On Sept. 16, residents reported the theft of copper from their home under construction. Plumbing pieces from the kitchen and upstairs bathroom had been taken.
FRAUD
On Sept. 19, a resident came into the station to report fraud. Unknown persons had used her debit card to purchase more than $150 worth of music online.
TREE TRIMMING
On Sept. 20, an officer took a vandalism report from the owner of an unoccupied 214th Place Northeast home. She reported several tree branches had been trimmed on her side of the property line. The house has had problems with vandalism and possible squatters in the past year, and she did not suspect neighbors were involved.
BURGLARY
At 2:38 p.m. Sept. 21, an officer was dispatched to a burglary at a 217th Avenue Southeast residence. The owner discovered a lawnmower and rototiller missing. Neither functioned and newer items had been left alone. There were no signs of forced entry. Evening patrols were requested.
DUI
At 3:15 a.m. Sept. 22, a deputy on patrol stopped to assist Issaquah police whom had arrested a man for hit and run. They suspected he was under the influence and the Sammamish officer took him into custody for blood alcohol processing. After speaking to an attorney, the suspect furnished two breath samples more than twice the legal limit. He was transferred back into an Issaquah officer’s custody for booking.
