The police blotter represents officers’ account of crimes and incidents in Issaquah. All arrested persons are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
Feb. 20
NAPTIME OVER: A 43-year-old Maple Valley man was arrested on the 1100 block of Northwest Gilman Boulevard for the theft of a $29 sleeping pad and possessing an open container.
SCRITCH-SCRATCH: A Ford Focus sustained $2,000 in damage from scratches on the 1800 block of 10th Avenue Northwest.
SCARFAKE: A woman visited the police department on East Sunset Way to report she had found a jar of white powder in her grandparents’ belongings. She thought the powder might be cocaine. Police tested the powder, which came back as negative for drugs. They disposed of the substance.
VEHICLE PROWL: A computer, keys and cellphone were reported stolen at a total loss of $1,550 from a Subaru Impreza on the 22500 block of Southeast 56th Street.
Feb. 21
UMMMMM: A condo resident calling from the 1800 block of 25th Avenue asked police how she should handle a strange vibration coming from her downstairs neighbor’s home.
POOR MAN’S TECHNO: A resident of the 200 block of Northwest Dogwood Street notified police that, since December, a neighbor had been activating the fire alarm in his residence for hours at a time.
IT’S BEEN THERE HOW LONG?: A resident of the 300 block of Southwest Mount Baker Drive reported gun shots from behind her house and up the hill. While in the area, an officer heard the gun shots from the shooting range by Issaquah High School.
Feb. 22
ONE-MAN PUB CRAWL: Conducting a welfare check, an officer contacted an intoxicated man at the intersection of Northwest Holly Street and Front Street North. The man said he had walked there from his home in the Highlands. The officer gave him a ride home.
DOMESTIC: A 39-year-old Issaquah woman was arrested for domestic violence on the 2100 block of Shy Bear Way Northwest.
POWER GRAB: A $300 generator was reported stolen from a building on the 100 block of 2nd Avenue Southeast.
BURGLARY: A home on the 200 block of Southwest Edgewood Court was burglarized of various items, totaling $5,400.
Feb. 23
KICKIN’ IT: An officer responded to a report of four people attempting to kick open the door of a house on the 500 block of 1st Avenue Northwest, at Confluence Park. The four were trespassed from the property by the reporting party, a city worker. The officer found no damage at the house.
THEFT: A 19-year-old Issaquah man was arrested for the theft of clothing and food from a location on the 1800 block of 10th Avenue Northwest. The items were recovered.
Feb. 24
GASOLINE: A citizen reported to police that someone cut his gas line and stole fuel from him the prior week, near the 1400 block of Northwest Gilman Boulevard.
SQUEALER: An officer responded to the 1100 block of Northwest Gilman Boulevard and contacted a man who was “extremely upset.” The officer asked the man to stop yelling and the man began to squeal. He left the area, continuing to yell.
ECLECTIC TASTES: A 37-year-old Issaquah man was arrested near the 6200 block of East Lake Sammamish Parkway Southeast for the theft of dog training products, an irrigation system and a metal-halide lamp.
THIS IS MY BOOMSTICK: An officer contacted a resident of the 200 block of 1st Avenue Northwest who had reported a loud noise near his house. He had told dispatch he had grabbed his shotgun before calling 911. Dispatch told him the city had permitted the burning of brush nearby. The officer asked the man if he had displayed his weapon to anyone and the man said no, he only had it because of his uncertainty about the cause of the noise.
PARAPHERNALIA: Two 23-year-old men, one from Issaquah and the other from Seattle, were arrested near the 100 block of 1st Avenue Southeast for possession of drug paraphernalia.
Feb. 25
ORNERY: A 24-year-old Sammamish woman was arrested for resisting arrest and disorderly conduct at the East Sunset Way police department while being transported as a prisoner.
RECKLESS: A complainant reported a driver tailgating, speeding and traveling erratically on the 700 block of Northwest Gilman Boulevard.
CALL IT IN: A 19-year-old Snoqualmie man was arrested for the theft of a cellphone on the 700 block of Northwest Gilman Boulevard.
SHE LOVES THAT BIKE: An officer responded to the 700 block of Rainier Boulevard North, where a woman was reported screaming. The officer contacted the woman, who said someone took her red Gary Fisher bicycle. She said she would report the bike stolen the next day if she didn’t find it.
Feb. 26
IN THE ACT?: An officer contacted a complainant who said some subjects who were staying at the motel on the 1800 block of 15th Place Northwest appeared to be attempting to steal a license plate on a vehicle. They did not get the plate and they left the area.
PLATES STOLEN: An officer contacted a woman on the 1400 block of 11th Avenue Northwest who believed her license plate had fallen off or had been taken. She said she was unsure where it might have happened and she already cancelled the number and obtained new plates. WARRANT: A 22-year-old North Bend man was arrested on an outstanding warrant near the intersection of Northwest Sammamish Road and 10th Avenue Northwest.
TRESPASS: A bartender at the H & H Tavern contacted police to have a patron barred from the property for his behavior. An officer determined the man, who had left, was transient and could not be served with papers at an address. The officer advised the bartender to let police know if the man showed up again so that he could be served with trespass paperwork.
