Bees, blues and The Fabulous Po’ Boys at the Issaquah Farmers Market

This Saturday at the Issaquah Farmers Market, Pickering Barn will host beekeeper Mark Johns and the cover bands Quarter Past 8 and The Fabulous Po’ Boys.

Mark Johns, the resident beekeeper of Misty Mountain Honey on Tolt River Farm, began beekeeping as a hobby in the early ’00s. He and his wife soon began selling varietal honeys and beeswax candles at local farmers markets. Johns frequently appears at seminars for budding apiarists. He will be present at the farmer’s market the entire operating day, 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Quarter Past 8 is a blues, rock and country foursome who regularly perform in the greater Seattle metro area. They perform covers of famous songs like “House of the Rising Sun” and “A Hard Day’s Night,” as well as originals like “Annecy” and “Wheel of Fortune.” They will perform 10-11:30 a.m.

The Fabulous Po’ Boys are a party band comprised of songwriter Warren Payne and guitarist Ed Johnson. The two have performed together for nearly 23 years and have released five albums of mellow harmonies. They will perform from noon to 2 p.m.

The Issaquah Farmers Market runs at the Pickering Barn every Saturday through Oct. 11. The barn is located at 1730 10th Ave. N.W.
