Calling Sammamish students | applications for statewide scholarship deadline Friday, Jan. 29

The Association of Washington Cities Center for Quality Communities Scholarship Fund, a nonprofit organization that promotes municipal leadership development and civic engagement, offers the scholarship through a statewide competitive process for students who are actively engaged in their city government and/or community and plan to attend post-secondary school in fall 2016.

The deadline to submit applications for a $1,000 scholarship to the city of Sammamish is Friday, Jan. 29.

The Association of Washington Cities Center for Quality Communities Scholarship Fund, a nonprofit organization that promotes municipal leadership development and civic engagement, offers the scholarship through a statewide competitive process for students who are actively engaged in their city government and/or community and plan to attend post-secondary school in fall 2016.

To be eligible, a student must be graduating from high school, home school or receiving a GED in spring/summer 2016; live or go to school in Sammamish; plan to continue their education at an accredited post-secondary institution in the 2016-2017 academic year on a half-time or more basis; and have been involved with a city government or with a community/school leadership.

The city of Sammamish is nominating one local candidate to compete for the association’s scholarship. In all, the $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to six Washington state students.

To be considered, please submit a completed scholarship application form to the city of Sammamish by end-of-day Friday, Jan. 29.
