Family, friends and community members are invited to come remember 18-year-old Tyler Lucas at 8:30 p.m., tonight in the Issaquah High School courtyard.
Lucas was killed in a Feb. 1 car accident headed northbound on I-405 just after the I-90 interchange.
Lucas was a high school senior and an all-star defenseman for the Issaquah High School varsity team. His father is coach Jim Lucas, a current Issaquah Youth Lacrosse coach who has coached IYL since its beginning.
Tyler was among the first group of IYL players in 2004, starting in elementary school.
A release from the IYL said, “He was the prototypical ‘lax rat’ — somebody who would be at every game or practice anywhere in the area, whether or not his team was involved.”
Those attending tonight’s vigil are asked to bring their own candles and anything they might want to leave for the family.
