Police arrested a 28-year-old man Monday in connection to a home invasion robbery on Newport Way Northwest in Issaquah.
The man was caught after Bellevue police responded to a vehicle that had struck a tree. Officers found the car abandoned. Police called in a K-9 unit from Renton police and located the driver, determined to be a suspect in a Nov. 9 home invasion. He was arrested and booked into King County Jail.
At 9:30 p.m. Sunday, the residents of a home on the 400 block of Newport answered a knock on their door.
When they answered an unknown man forced his way inside and brandished a handgun. He searched for valuables in the house. While he was distracted, the residents fled down the street. They were briefly chased by the suspect but eventually lost him and called 911 from a nearby house.
Issaquah police responded with a Redmond K-9 unit, but the suspect had left the area.
