Sammamish’s biggest community celebration is nearly here.
The sixth annual Fourth on the Plateau begins at 6 p.m., Wednesday at the Sammamish Commons.
While waiting for the fireworks at 10 p.m., attendees can enjoy food from a variety of vendors, bring the little ones to the kids area in the Lower Commons, or just relax in the grass and listen to live music. The group Soul Purpose will perform at 6 p.m., followed by Shelley and the Curves at 8 p.m.
Those attending need to be aware the trail to the Lower Commons closes at 9:30 p.m.
Paid parking is available at Mary Queen of Peace, Sammamish Hills Lutheran Church and Skyline High School for $5. Additional free parking is available at Sammamish City Hall, Eastside Catholic School, Discovery Elementary, Pine Lake Park and Sammamish Park and Ride. Eastlake High School is closed due to construction.
Attendees are asked not to bring personal barbecues or grills in to the site. Paid food offerings on-site include hamburgers and hot dogs, barbecue, Indian food, ice cream, kettle corn and elephant ears.
Those interested in volunteering at the event should contact Dawn Sanders at 425-295-0556 or sandersdsanders@ci.sammamish.wa.us.
