The next big decision to be made for the Central Issaquah Plan this year is where exactly Central Issaquah is.
A committee spent the second half of 2010 drawing up a plan that would guide development of Issaquah’s largest business district.
There are multiple criteria for being identified as a Regional Growth Center, including having 15,000 employees in a half mile of a transit center.
While the six proposed areas are fine on transportation and business, the area as a whole has few residents. The county wants there to be 15 households per gross acre.
All of the proposed plans are centered around I-90.
In addition to meeting the criteria, the city will also need to prepare an environmental impact statement.
