Issaquah photographer Charles Krebs has had success in a prestigious international photographic competition.
The Nikon Small World Photomicrography competition is one of the only competitions in the world focussing on the beauty and complexity of objects seen through a light microscope.
Krebs was awarded 12th place with his up-close image of a the rear leg section of a Water Boatman (below), and 14th place with ‘Closterium, diatoms and Spirogyra’ (right).
He also received an honorable mention for his photo ‘Wing Scales of Urania rephaeus’ (below right).
This photo was taken at 100 times magnification, of the scales on the wing of Urania riphaeus, the sunset moth.
