Pool workshops

Officials with the city of Issaquah wants to know what people think about the idea of constructing a new pool and or renovating the Julius Boehm Pool.

The Boehm pool is 36 years old and faces higher demand then it can handle. Each year more than 24,000 people use the pool each year.

The Boehm pool has aging systems that are very ineffective when compared to new cities, city officials say.

The city has not yet determined which option they prefer or if they even want to take action. They are requesting citizen input in two workshops, held from 7-8:30 p.m. on Sept. 24 at Tibbetts Creek Manor and from 7-8:30 p.m. on Oct. 22 at Blakely Hall.

HighMark office building public hearing

There will be a public meeting at 7 p.m. on Oct. 1 in the Council Chambers of Issaquah City Hall South for the proposed project known as “HighMark Office Building.”

The building will be a three-story medical office and have 44,000 square feet of space. The site is approximately 2.4 acres and is located at 1704 N.W. Maple Street.

Comments will be accepted up to and during the hearing. Written comments should be directed to Jerry Lind, Planning Department, P.O. Box 1307, Issaquah WA 98027 by Sept. 30.
