Law enforcement agencies continue to search the Snoqualmie River for a woman and 8-year-old child, who were passengers in a car crash near Fall City on Jan. 9.

The crash occurred just before 2 a.m. Sunday, near the intersection of Fall City-Snoqualmie Road and Fish Hatchery Road in Fall City. The driver, a 35-year-old man, attempted to make a left turn and lost control of his vehicle, rolling into the Snoqualmie River.

Besides the driver, the car carried three passengers, all of whom are from Carnation, including a woman, an 8-year-old boy and an 8-month-old-girl.

The driver and 8-month-old were both uninjured, according to a report from the Washington State Patrol. However, crews are still looking for the woman and boy, who are presumed dead, as of Jan. 10.

Catherine Breault, a spokesperson for Eastside Fire & Rescue, said crews were out in boats all day Sunday, until daylight expired, and were about to relaunch their rescue boats as of 10 a.m. Jan. 10. Washington State Patrol, Fall City Fire and the King County Sheriff’s Department are assisting in search efforts.

The driver faces charges possible charges for driving under the influence, and the possibility of additional charges, according to the Washington State Patrol.
