Cucina Cucina Italian Cafe in Issaquah will host the MDA Lock up event from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 6 at Cucina Cucina Italian Café in Issaquah.

The event sees community leaders “arrested” and put behind bars as their friends and business associates post “bail” to get them released. It’s all part of a fun and philanthropic effort to raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association and the people it serves in greater Issaquah.

“Jailbirds” will raise $3,200 to support life-saving research and essential services provided to 2000 families in Western Washington.

The Muscular Dystrophy Association is a voluntary health agency dedicated to finding treatments and cures for neuromuscular diseases through research. MDA client services include local clinics, support group sessions, assistance with medical equipment purchases and repairs, and a summer camp. Locally the King County Chapter of MDA serves over 800 families affected by the 43 different types of neuromuscular diseases.
