Issaquah History Museums will present a look at the life of Al Faussett, a logger, daredevil and showman at 11 a.m. Oct. 8 at the Issaquah Depot.

Guy Faussett, Al’s great-grandson, will share the story of Faussett’s life and adventures. Although the dream of jumping Niagara Falls eluded him, Faussett jumped seven different sets of falls in the Pacific Northwest. He accomplished these feats in either a 32-foot dugout canoe named the Skykomish Queen, or a 16-foot craft described as a “wooden cocoon.”

During the late 1920s, daredevil performances gained popularity all over the United States. Along with people like Faussett, bent on shooting over waterfalls, there were barn-stormers, wing-walkers, human cannonballs and tight-rope walkers.

History programs are free of charge, and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.

The Issaquah Train Depot is located at 50 Rainier Blvd. N.
