Time is running out to help the Sammamish Police Department and the U.S. Marines deliver some toys to needy kids this holiday season.
Donations are still being collected at the Sammamish PD office inside City Hall for the Marines’ “Toys for Tots” program until Dec. 10. Just bring a new, unwrapped toy and drop it off in a container located outside of the police office door on the first floor, near the east entrance.
Approved by the Secretary of Defense in 1995, the program supports kids as old as 16, depending on the locale. While the program does not publish a list of recommended toy donations, donations containing food or realistic-looking toy weapons will not be distributed.
