The blotter consists of Sammamish police officers’ accounts of crimes and other incidents in the city. Persons arrested are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
June 1
A SAD TUNE: A 49-year-old woman was arrested for two counts of domestic violence assault in the fourth degree in the 1300 block of 205th Avenue Northeast. Among other things, the Sammamish woman reportedly punched her daughter and struck her daughter in the gut with a guitar. When transporting the woman to the King County Jail, she allegedly disrobed, put her feet up against the window and flashed commuters. Police stopped to redress her and put her in a four-point restraint.
June 2
REPORT THAT: A Bothell Police Department officer was contacted by a Sammamish woman, and close personal friend, who claimed her husband had given her a concussion after throwing her to the floor a week prior. The officer told her to report it to the Sammamish Police Department, but she hadn’t as of June 2. So, the officer passed along the information.
June 4
IT’S NEVER OK: A 42-year-old Sammamish man was arrested for fourth-degree assault in the 2010 block of 222th Avenue Southeast.
June 5
NOT QUITE DRUNK BUT STILL SPEEDING: A 50-year-old Kirkland woman was detained in the Sammamish City Hall after clocking 52 miles per hour in a 35-mph zone and then being suspected of driving while under the influence in the 700 block of East Lake Sammamish Parkway Southeast. After the breathalyzer recorded a 0.061 and 0.058 alcohol level, the officer recommended not charging her with a DUI and transported her home. She was given an infraction for speeding.
June 10
WELFARE CHECK LEADS TO ARREST: A 48-year-old Vancouver man was arrested in the QFC parking lot off of 228th Avenue Southeast for a criminal warrant issued by the Issaquah District Court for intoxication in a public park with a bail of $750. He was transported to the King County Jail.
June 12
AGGRESSIVE NEIGHBORS: A resident at Bordeaux Condos found a note on her door, presumably from a neighbor, threatening to shoot her dog if it didn’t stop barking in the early morning. The note appeared after the resident’s daughter walked her dog; the note also said its author followed the child home and verbally threatened to shoot the dog.
June 14
BUT IT’S HOT OUT: Two juveniles, who swimming in Pine Lake around 2:50 a.m., were caught trespassing in park. Officers found marijuana in their car, parked in the 2700 block of 226th Avenue Southeast, where they had walked from to gain access to the park.
June 15
ARREST: A 24-year-old Sammamish man was arrested in the 2500 block of Sahalee Way Northeast shortly after 4 a.m. A Sammamish officer had ran the man’s license plate while on patrol and discovered the Sammamish man had a misdemeanor warrant out for his arrest through the Bellevue Police Department for theft in the third degree. He was booked at the Issaquah Jail.
June 16
THAT’S SO MEAN: Someone splattered paint on the front door of a residence in the 21800 block of Northeast 30th Place and wrote “DIE” in pink paint on the driveway.
June 17
BROKEN CONDOMS: A resident in the 20500 block of Northeast 23rd Court reported someone painted the tree in the front lawn with pink and red paint, scattered broken eggs and condoms in the yard and driveway, and left a bag of animal feces on her son’s car, which had also been egged in the front driveway. The resident suspected the neighbors down the street but couldn’t prove anything.
June 18
HEROIN: After responding to a suspicious vehicle report, officers made contact and eventually arrested a 35-year-old Shoreline male for possession of 0.2 grams of heroin at the Saffron Apartment parking lot off of Northeast Eighth Street. The man was there with two other men, one a Sammamish resident. Neither of them were arrested.
THE UNCLAIMED LIST: Several items from the Skyline High School lost and found were turned over to the Sammamish Police Department. The found property — three cellphones, one Nintendo DS game and one lady’s watch — had not been claimed during the school year.
June 19
YOU SMELL LIKE MARIJUANA: After going nearly twice the speed limit, police finally caught up to a 16-year-old boy driving his father’s vehicle without headlights on. Police believed the driver was trying to evade the authorities, as he never used turn signals and sped through residential areas. Once the boy parked off of Southeast 22nd Street, police made contact. The boy, who did not have a license or permission to borrow the car or be out of the house, turned over a bag of marijuana he had concealed in his shoe. The boy was not charged; he was released to his father on scene and it was then taken up as a “family matter.”
June 20
OVERDOSE: A 17-year-old Skyline High School student was taken to Swedish Medical Center in Issaquah after apparently overdosing on alcohol at an underaged party in the 26500 block of Southeast 19 Court. The parents and owners of the home were unaware some teens snuck alcohol and marijuana into the downstairs area, where the girl reportedly had six shots and two beers within an hour before passing out.
