Eastside Baby Corner is opening its Issaquah hub to tours this month.
The nonprofit, which distributes donated children’s and maternity items to social service agencies for families in need, will host two open houses 9 a.m. to noon on Dec. 10 and Dec. 17. The open houses will allow supporters to see how their donations are used, according to a press release.
“Our mission of helping local kids have what they need to thrive, is only made possible because of the generosity of the local community,” Executive Director Renee Zimmerman said. “From the people who donate goods, to the volunteers, to the people who support us financially, each person has a role to play in making this ‘Little Engine That Could’ organization so successful.”
Founded in 1990, Eastside Baby Corner serves a broad area covering south Renton to south Snohomish County, into the Cascade foothills. The organization is a major source of baby food, formula, diapers, cribs and car seats for 11 food banks and estimates it provides food to 700 children a week.
