For the entire month of January, the Starbucks on 228th Avenue SE in Sammamish, will display the artwork of six Eastside Catholic students.

There are seven drawings and paintings on display, from junior Jae Fabroa, senior Anna Groven, senior Jazzy Jia, sophomore Reagan McCauley, senior Anna Okerlund and senior Sarah Orrico. There are two pieces are by Anna Okerlund.

Typically the art featured at this Starbucks is that of local artists.

Eastside art teacher Megan McDermott noticed the art and offered the idea of highlighting her student’s art.

She worked with the barista who manages the monthly art rotation and installation.

McDermott selected her favorite pieces from her students “that are a good representation of what they’ve accomplished in class.”
