After initial training, volunteers are required to attend weekly training sessions and assist in emergency and non-emergency response when requested and/or available.

The deadline to apply is May 30. More information and application instructions are available online.

Currently, there are almost 70 volunteers in the EFR system, which manages six all-volunteer and nine career-staffed stations. Volunteers are especially needed for the Tiger Mountain, Preston, Wilderness Rim, Lake Joy, South Cove and Maple Hills communities.

In addition to the city of Issaquah, EFR members include the cities of North Bend and Sammamish and King County fire protection districts 10 and 38.
