EvergreenHealth Monroe enhances ultrasound services with new technology

New ltrasound machine provides high-resolution images.

EvergreenHealth Monroe recently expanded its suite of diagnostic imaging technology with the addition of a state-of-the-art ultrasound machine that provides high-resolution images and allows for enhanced patient comfort.

The new equipment offered in EvergreenHealth Monroe’s imaging center in the Sky River Medical Building will benefit patients with a range of needs, and it is particularly useful for obstetrics and gynecology exams. The high resolution allows for precise visibility of all fetal anatomy, including the heart, and also has an enhanced setting that limits the fetus’ exposure to high-frequency sound waves.

Additionally, the new machine offers a higher depth of tissue penetration at a lower frequency, creating a more comfortable patient experience because the provider only needs to use a small amount of pressure when operating the ultrasound wand.

“We are proud to offer the most advanced imaging technology to our patients here in east Snohomish County,” Renée Jensen, chief administrative officer of EvergreenHealth Monroe, said in a press release. “By enhancing our imaging capabilities, we are also offering patients a more comfortable experience to help them achieve the most positive outcomes.”

The new machine joins two existing ultrasound machines, as well as a full scope of diagnostic imaging equipment used for X-rays, CT scans, cardiovascular scans, fluoroscopy, nuclear medicine, DXA scans, mammography and MRI scans.

EvergreenHealth Monroe also offers 3-D mammography technology, which provides detailed digital images of the breast to detect abnormalities at an earlier stage and with more precision. The new ultrasound machine complements this technology, as it can be used to help confirm results of the 3-D mammogram.
