Fluffy cottonwood seeds drifting across clear skies set the scene as thousands from around the Eastside made their way through the Issaquah Farmers Market opening day Saturday.
Young and old, people took part in sampling what local vendors had to offer.
“We love coming,” Lindsay Hasz said. Hasz, accompanied by her husband and two young children, just purchased spicy pickles and kimchi at the Britt’s Pickles booth.
Some vendors, like Steve Kowalsky manning his family’s pasta booth, boast items only sold at the market.
Numerous art booths featured everything from market classics, like “Squeek” Bradley’s repurposed, scrap metal creations to first-timer Melissa Schafer’s metal clay, handcrafted jewelry.
The market will continue Saturdays, rain or shine, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. through Sept. 24 at the Pickering Barn, located at 1730 10th Ave. NW. There are signs directing drivers toward market parking.
The Sammamish Farmers Market kicks off Wednesday at 4 p.m. in the Sammamish Commons Plaza located at 801 228th Ave. SE.
