The Cascade Water Alliance will host a free class on Sustainable Veggie Gardening on May 5 at the Pickering Barn in Issaquah. The class, from 10-11:30 a.m. will be taught by Emily Bishton, a landscape designer and environmental educator.
Bishton will talk about how growing your own organic food is a fun and delicious way to garden in the Pacific Northwest. Vegetables, berries, and fruit trees need special care to thrive, but your time and effort will pay off with great tasting, nutritious home-grown food. Best of all, food crops can be incorporated into any landscape, large or small.
Registration is available online at www.brownpapertickets.com/event/234497 or by calling 1-800-838-3006.
The Pickering Barn is located at 1730 10th Ave. NW.
