High-pressure sales reps target Issaquah seniors

Issaquah Police have issued a citizen's alert to all residents regarding aggressive door-to-door alarm sales representatives who have been misrepresenting who they are and which products they are selling.

Issaquah Police have issued a citizen’s alert to all residents regarding aggressive door-to-door alarm sales representatives who have been misrepresenting who they are and which products they are selling. They target senior citizens and use high-pressure tactics in an effort to confuse people into signing a new contract.

The City of Issaquah website states, “This has become a nationwide problem, as thousands of consumer fraud complaints…have been filed with the Better Business Bureau.”

If a sales person knocks at your door, keep in mind that legitimate companies will generally not show up without a scheduled appointment and a representative should always be able to produce appropriate identification. If you have doubts about the person’s legitimacy, contact your alarm company.
