How distinctly the seasons change – this past week, fall was definitely in the air, and on the ground, with colorful leaves and cool, crisp weather. In the Issaquah Highlands young families made the most of the sunshine while it lasts. At Black Nugget Park, 16-month-old Gavin Bethkey enjoyed an afternoon slipping down the slide with his mom Kelly. It wasn’t all play, however. Just down the hill from the park, siblings Connor and Olivia Goodman, along with their friend Nathan Taylor, were hard at work winterizing their garden patch. They grow tomatoes and squash, and though most of their crops were already harvested, Olivia couldn’t vouch for their flavor. “I don’t like squash,” she said, wrinkling her nose.
