When Christine Stoll’s grandmother passed away, she left Stoll her collection of beads, buttons, broken costume jewelry and jewelry-making tools.
This inspired Stoll to use repurposed and vintage materials to create modern jewelry. The Bellevue artist enjoys digging through bins of vintage buttons and jars of antique hardware at flea markets searching for material.
Stoll is one of more than 35 artists whose products will be available for sale at the third annual Historic Shell Holiday Shop in downtown Issaquah. The Downtown Issaquah Association’s pop-up shop – curated and run by Alison Lang of So, There – will feature handmade goods from local artists.
Open for the holiday season from 12-6 p.m. Friday-Sunday, Nov. 24-Dec. 30, this shop offers patrons the opportunity to find unique handmade holiday gifts, including jewelry, ceramics, cards, apparel and more.
New this year, the downtown association has added two outdoor holiday winter market weekends featuring decor, food, gifts, music and more, from 12-4 p.m. on Nov. 25-26 and Dec. 22-23.
Shop in a boutique atmosphere at the Historic Shell Station, 232 Front St. N. in Issaquah. For more information, visit facebook.com/ShellHolidayShop/.
