A Snoqualmie man involved in a Feb. 22 vehicle rollover on Interstate 90 in Issaquah has succumbed to his injuries, according to the state patrol.
Kenneth J. Treichel, 52, died March 2 at Harborview Medical Center a week after he was seriously injured when his 2001 Kia Spectra went off the right side of Westbound I-90 at around 7 a.m. According to the Washington State Patrol, the vehicle travelled 238 feet down a ravine and struck a tree, coming to a rest on its right side. Treichel, the single occupant, was wearing a seatbelt.
The accident jammed traffic for nearly an hour, according to WSDOT, as emergency crews blocked the right lane for emergency vehicles. The accident victim was removed through the vehicle’s sunroof and immediately transported by ambulance to Harborview Medical Center.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
