The Issaquah School District received a clean audit from the state for the 10th year in a row.
“I am proud of our staff—from the Business Office to everyone in schools who meticulously follow proper accountability procedures—for this year’s clean audits,” said Jake Kuper, Issaquah’s finance chief.
The two audits occur annually, per state law. The first, the accountability report, examines how well the District complies with its own policies and state and federal laws such as the Open Public Meetings Act and bidding compliance. The financial audit report, measures the District’s financial statements and processes.
The state’s auditors were on site for about 350 hours to complete the process. State auditor Brian Sonntag commending the district for reaching the milestone.
“This accomplishment reflects the dedication of the district board and the district staff to strong oversight of operations, good internal controls, and accurate financial reporting,” he said.
