Issaquah High School’s band program received $5,000 for coming in second place in The Rock, Wood Fired Pizza & Spirits’s annual School of Rock Battle of the Bands competition.
The contest, in partnership with KZOK-FM, pinned 33 high school marching bands against one another to create video renditions of classic rock-and-roll hits.
The month-long School of The Rock competition invited high school bands from Washington to participate in an online battle to see which school’s video performance could tally the most votes via text message.
From Nov. 15 to Dec. 15, 2010, customers and listeners were encouraged to visit The Rock’s website and Comcast OnDemand to vote for their favorite act.
