Citizen of Issaquah celebrated National Night Out last evening at Issaquah City Hall, lining up for hot dogs cooked by police officers, prizes, and visits with security agents and other local law enforcement agencies.
National Night Out, held throughout the country, hope to education people about crime and drug prevention, and generally support local anti-crim efforts.
Behind city hall member of the Department of Fish and Wildlife were on hand to discuss and show people how they help catch and track bears. Mishka, the department’s famous inaugural member of the Karelian Bear Dog program, was on hand to visit with the younger audience and help people learn about the program.
For others it was simply the chance to climb around the local fire and police equipment, checking out all the various knobs and buttons used to help keep people safe.
